lisaI'll be the first to admit, that I know very little about MS and the effects it has on a person. However, after meeting several people, including Lisa Pennock-Carriveau, I realized that riding in the MS150 every year isn't just a fun ride. The dollars raised for this effort has gone to do some amazing things. I am now proud to be a part of such a grand effort amongst 7,000 riders and over 1000 volunteers for this event. We were very proud to place the "I'm Riding For...." sticker on our bikes this year.

Every Time my knee acts up, I'll think of MS. Every Time I get a flat, I'll think of MS. Every Time it pours down on us during a ride, I'll think of MS. Nothing I am going through even COMPARES to the ill effects of MS.I, for one, am glad to pedal my way 175 miles this weekend knowing that our combined efforts will go toward a cure.

Please friend me, Robert Blanda (CaddisArt WebDebvelopment) on facebook to see photos of the ride as they happen. I'll be posting all day long.

Thank YOU, Lisa, and everyone with MS for being strong and trying to live a wholesome family life even though you have a debilitating disease.

Team Hangover wholeheartedly supports you!

I found these, thought they'd be fun to share.(and yes, #1 wasnt on the website....)

02. You go from one pair of shorts to a dedicated drawerful.

03. Being unable to sleep the night after you first shave your legs, because of the tingle of bedsheets against your skin.

04. When "thanks for the ride" goes from something you overhear to part of your lexicon.

05. You see someone at the beach tanned low on the quads and biceps, and give him a nod of recognition.

06. Bonking so bad you don't think you'll be able to make it home.

07. Discovering how a convenience-store Coke can resurrect the dead.

08. Starting and finishing a ride—the same one—in pouring rain.

09. When you hang out at the bike shop and no one expects you to buy anything.

10. When your bike computer registers triple digits for one ride.

11. Clearing a log on a the trail.

Team Hangover Preps For Yet Another MS150 RIde PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 16 July 2011 03:56

As September approaches, our team gets excited every year about doing the MS150! There is much preperation during this ride, including transportation, food, sleeping arrangements, hotels, BEER, etc. There is also much to be considered when it comes to certain bike parts, tubes, pumps, etc. Team Hangover usually rides 100 miles down to Ocean City and 75 miles back to Woodcrest Station in Voorhees NJ. Our riders are as close as Berlin, but some of our dedicated riders come from as far as Alexandria, VA. (Yes, that's you, Crash!).

Please support our members this year on the MS150 Tour to battle Multiple Sclerosis. If you'd like to donate to our team efforts, please click here.

capemayIts time folks! That dreaded century that you have to ride before the 212 Mile Monster on June 11th. This 100 mile squiggly through New Jersey will end up at Cape May Point somewhere in the area of 2pm. Our bikes are tuned, truck is ready and most importantly, the beer is in the cooler (WITH ICE!)

Joining us is Christine (Crash) Sennott (all the way from Virginia!), "Skinny Steve" Smith, and yours truly, Rob "The Bean" Blanda.

Our ride departs at 6am Saturday morning from our Berlin Stomping grounds. We'll be greeted at the point by the lovely Nicole Albertson with the SAG and the cooler of beer! Look on facebook for pictures of the ride as we go.
